Did you know that Hitler was obsessed with the occult?
Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke published a book about this in 1985, called: The Occult Roots of Nazism. In this book, Clarke analyzed the occultism in Hitler’s ideology.
The most important conclusion that he formed was that many of the stories about occultism in Nazism or a certain satanic aspect of Hitler’s way of thinking are just not true — those are created for ‘sensational’ purposes.
So when you read something about Hitler’s obsession with x or y that’s somehow related to the occult, double-check if it’s likely to be true.
To help us separate the facts from the crap, Clark researched the links between the ideas of the occult and Nazism.
The Underlying History of Ariosohpy
In the 1800s and 1900s, Ariosophy developed itself as a racist and nationalist branch in Germany and Austria founded by Guido von List and Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels.
The movement addressed a lot of issues the Germans had with modernism, industrialism, and urbanization. It tried to “prove the modern world was based on false and evil principles”.
It was loosely inspired by Christianity, ancient Germanic paganism, and holistic philosophy as well as by occult beliefs that were affected by German romanticism.
One of the most fundamental parts of Ariosophy is the concept around the Aryan race in its broadest meaning, including runic symbols such as the swastika, and sometimes occultism.
Hitler’s Demonic Possession
According to Hermann Rauschning, Hitler was once possessed by a demon.
However, as Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke points out, most current researchers do not believe Rauschning to be trustworthy, and subsequent work has virtually probably shown that Rauschning’s talks were mainly made up.
Also, one of Hitler’s friends August Kubizek claimed that when he spoke about Germany:
“It was as if another being spoke out of his body, and moved him as much as it did me.” — Hitler and the Holy Roman Empire
The Spear of Destiny
The Spear of Destiny, a mythical Christian artifact believed to be the spear that stabbed Jesus Christ more than two thousand years ago, has been discovered. A tale that is still alive and well.
According to occult tradition, whoever claims this spear and comprehends its arcane meaning controls the fate of the world in his or her hands.
Before World War II, the Spear of Destiny was on display in the Hofburg Museum in Vienna, where it was on loan from the Austrian government.
When it was discovered, it drew the attention of a young Adolf Hitler, who associated it with stories of the Holy Grail and devised his ambitions to become a man of destiny.
While working in the crucible of occultism and evil philosophy that gave birth to Hitler’s scheme for global dominion, the spear had a particular appeal for him and his accomplices.
Following three years of preparation, Hitler led his soldiers into Austria, marking the beginning of the first step of his plan for global conquest. One of his first actions was to have the Spear of Destiny removed from the Hofburg Museum, which was one of his first acts.
The spear was buried under the Nuremberg Fortress, where it was recovered on April 30, 1945, the same day that Hitler committed suicide in his Berlin bunker.
It was discovered among other artifacts from the Imperial collection and was retrieved together.
